  • Why are you here? (We're not speaking existentially, just asking how you or your ancestors came to Maine)
  • What has drawn immigrants to Maine?
  • Should immigrants try to maintain their culture or assimilate to American culture?

Then come to History Camp and...

  • Find out what historians see as the Maine story of immigration
  • Explore the 19th century mill at Museum LA
  • Visit “Petit Canada,“ once a cultural enclave
  • Hear from former mill workers about their lives as immigrants
