Teacher Programs
As part of the Maine Humanities Council’s ongoing mission to engage the people of Maine in the power and pleasure of ideas, we offer several kinds of enrichment programs for K-12 teachers. The programs vary in length from half-day workshops to three- and four-week summer institutes to three-year initiatives.
These content-rich programs provide teachers with a unique professional development opportunities, as well as continuing education credits. Designed and led by independent scholars and faculty from Maine’s private colleges and the University of Maine system, the programs are content-rich, intellectually challenging “back-to-college” opportunities for Maine teachers focusing on contemporary scholarly approaches to both familiar and unfamiliar areas of study in the humanities.
